Jesus christ in a chicken basket. Coachella has posted their final lineup list. I think I'm going to die from excitement. Here's a highlight of the acts that make me giddy like a schoolgirl (with an appropriate number of exclamation marks denoting just how much I'm going to wet my pants when they come on stage):
Beastie Boys
The Donnas
Gomez
Ladytron
Nightmares on Wax(!!)
Amon Tobin(!!!!!)
Ben Kweller(!)
Underworld
Thievery Corporation(!)
Sonic Youth(!!!!!!)
Tortoise(!!!!!)
Ben Folds
Mouse on Mars
Black Eyed Peas
i know! i know! ben folds! i love him! eeeeeeek! so excited with the sunning and the sleeping on the grass and the happy wandering from stage to tent and the fun! so much fun!
Posted by: michele on February 24, 2003 04:52 PMI just found out that Marc (Verbeley), a friend from high school whom some of you met at a Langlow Xmas party, will be at Coachella. w00t.
Posted by: Jacob on February 24, 2003 05:17 PMgang, ok. I'm going to try and collect as much music by the coachella acts as i can this week, via mp3 or borrowed cds or whatever. i really need more info on these jokers before i can make up my mind. so if anyone has fave rave music by the performers, let me know willya? i need to hear it. like, now.
not ben folds though. i know he is great. ditto chili peppers and beastie boys and jack johnson, because i have my projectile vomit response all set there.
Posted by: didofoot on February 25, 2003 12:07 PMSheesh, it kills me that I wasn't around last year for Bjork. It freaking KILLS me. I'm with Kristen, only mildly enthused about the line-up for this year. I mean, I will probably give in to the desire for a bonding group trip. But $200 (or whatever) is a shit load of money to go see people I don't know and dance till I drop.
Posted by: Jolie on February 25, 2003 01:30 PMTortoise is also playing at Bimbo's in SF on March 2, also known as this Sunday night.
Posted by: sean on February 25, 2003 04:07 PMWhaaaaaat!?!? Goddamn it. Too many things going on this weekend. Perhaps I'll die.
