I'm back from backpacking, and the war still isn't over. What's worse, the shenanigans are just getting sillier.

• Wounded American troops are spouting brilliant things like, "We were very surprised. They weren't rolling over the way we thought they would" (I guess the propaganda about every Iraqi pouring into the street to welcome coalition forces thoroughly unprepared the troops).
  
• The U.S. fucking walked out of Iraq's address to the U.N. What are we, goddamn school children?
  
• American generals are getting pissed off about surrendering U.S. soldiers being killed when Time magazine online ran a picture of an entire trench full of dead Iraqi soldiers with white flags.
  
• "But besides all that money, this war's really about freeing the Iraqi people. No, we really mean it. it's not about money at all. We're really really serious about this money thing."
  
• Last but not least, whoever is coordinating this war is a fucking idiot. First an RAF fighter, and now we try to take out our own missile batteries. Wonderful.
  

Later today I'll post some pictures from backpacking. They're beautiful, unlike the situation I've come back to.
